The SHARE Initiative, powered by RBD and R&D Group, was launched with a vision to empower and uplift young women entrepreneurs in Addis Ababa and Hawassa, Ethiopia. In collaboration with CARE Ethiopia, this project addresses the unique challenges faced by young women in urban centers, contributing to their economic empowerment and community development.
Ethiopia’s young women entrepreneurs hold immense potential, yet they often encounter significant barriers such as limited access to education, financial resources, and professional networks. The SHARE Initiative seeks to overcome these challenges by creating an enabling environment that fosters innovation, resilience, and sustainable business practices.
Key Components of the Project:
Share Learn: This component enhances the skills of young women entrepreneurs through blended training programs covering essential topics such as business planning, digital literacy, financial management, and life skills.
Share Info: Focused on providing accessible online resources, this component includes articles, blogs, podcasts, case studies, and an online library, along with the SHARE Telegram channel to disseminate valuable information.
Share Network: Designed to facilitate networking opportunities, this component connects young women entrepreneurs through online community platforms, discussion forums, and events like annual conferences and quarterly meet-and-greet sessions.
The SHARE platform serves as a comprehensive eLearning tool, offering continuous learning opportunities in a flexible, user-friendly format. It also fosters a supportive community where participants can share experiences, seek advice, and build valuable networks.
This initiative marks a significant step towards empowering young women entrepreneurs in Ethiopia, helping them to overcome obstacles and achieve sustainable growth.
